Everyday Blessings #15: Christmas Presence
Written by Teddy on December 7, 2021
Christmas comes but once a year. For our bank accounts, that’s probably a good thing! Well, ready or not, it’s coming! The hustle and bustle and the search for the perfect gifts can easily overwhelm the season! This year we’re trying to give our kids the gift of time spent together. I can’t even recall what gifts they had under the tree last year, but I will always remember a weekend spent away together!
As you look at your list of people that you want to give to this Christmas, keep that in mind! It’s not about the presents you give, it’s about your presence with people! Make a special visit to Grandma’s house. Ask that older widow at your church to come over to make Christmas cookies with your family. Deliver goodies to a nursing home, sing Christmas carols to the shut ins from your church! Find ways to be present with your loved ones this year. It will mean so much more than a gift quickly forgotten. And that’s what we celebrate at Christmas, isn’t it? That Jesus came and spent time with us on earth. Shine His light this Christmas!
