MISSION

To provide the public, through its radio broadcasting, digital media services and public relations functions, such a clear expression of the message, mission and character of Jesus Christ that the following results will be consistently achieved:

  • Salvation of the lost and nurture of the saved.
  • Christian families built up in faith and life experience to become mature witnesses of the grace of God, and Biblically effective contributors to the benefit of society.
  • Ministry of Bible-teaching local churches reinforced, and churches at large confronted by the Spirit of God and revived.
  • Unity of the Spirit in the bonds of peace, and unity in the Body of Christ.
  • Promotion of and participation in the Great Commission stated in Matthew 28:19,20, and particularly in relation to worldwide Christian communications.

OUTREACH

Mars Hill Broadcasting is a non-denominational Christian, not-for-profit, multi-media ministry originating in Syracuse, NY. The Mars Hill Network consists of seven “full power” FM radio stations and 15 repeater (translator) FM stations that serve much of upstate NY and into Ontario and Quebec, Canada by means of our border stations. The Mars Hill Network is also heard globally on the World Wide Web via audio streaming.

The Mars Hill Network provides a format consisting of inspirational music and a wide variety of Bible teaching/preaching programs, including family oriented features and children’s programming. The network also schedules current news and public affairs programs within its broadcast day.

HISTORY OF THE NETWORK

Mars Hill Broadcasting is born

Christians from the Syracuse, NY area met and shared their vision for a radio station in Central New York. These believers formed a corporation named Mars Hill Broadcasting, adopting its name from Acts 17 (KJV). Here is where the Apostle Paul preached Christ in the market place and on Mars Hill to the Athenians.

1966

WMHR goes on air

WMHR 102.9 FM, Syracuse, NY signs on-air to serve Central New York.

March 9, 1969

WMHN goes on air

WMHN 89.3 FM, Webster, NY begins broadcasting in the Greater Rochester Area.

February 29, 1988

WMHI goes on air

WMHI 94.7 FM, Cape Vincent, NY transmits its signal to Watertown, Northern NY, and Kingston and Southeastern Ontario Canada.

October 1, 1990

WMHQ goes on air

WMHQ 90.1 FM, Malone, NY goes on the air reaching those in the Malone-Massena region, including parts of Ontario and Quebec Canada.

December 3, 2003

WMHU goes on air

WMHU 91.1 FM, Cold Brook, NY is born providing Christian broadcasting to Utica and the Mohawk Valley.

July 12, 2011

WMHY goes on air

WMHY 88.7 FM, Richfield Springs brings the Mars Hill Network to rural communities lying outside of the Utica area.

February 28, 2013

WMHH goes on air

WMHH 96.7 FM, Albany brings the Mars Hill Network signal to hundreds of thousands in the capital region, including Albany, Troy & Schenectady Counties.

July 25, 2019

Thanks to the prayers and assistance of many Christians, numerous “repeater stations” also have been added throughout the years, expanding the family of stations that make up the Mars Hill Network.
