Wayne Weekly “In A Moment of Time”

Written by on November 5, 2020

Just a few days ago many were lamenting over the snow covered highways, having to don our winter coats, or a layer or two of our fall wear. We shook our heads and reluctantly resigned to the reality that the autumn days of colorful foliage and moderate temperatures had hibernated.

That is until today.

We woke to early morning temperatures in the fifties. The sun rising in it’s now standard time mode, shining through a mostly clear sky. The promise of temperatures reaching nearly 70 degrees flowed from the mouths of our media meteorologists or glided off the screens of our cell phones.

For a moment, we put the quagmire of the election results behind us and joined hands across our personal political aisles in unity. Ah…the warmth of the sun against our faces, the wisp of a balmy gust across our cheeks. All was OK in the time warp of a perfect fall day.

We can be most assured that that every day in Heaven, though truly the day as we know it will disappear in glory, that the eternal state will be even better than a seemingly flawless autumn experienced in a moment of time.

God’s place awaiting us is beyond imagination, beyond earthly experience, cannot be captured by our current senses. It will be a place of perfection, of perfect harmony, of everlasting joy. Yet, we will think, and remember, and fellowship with one another, with the celestial angels, and with the Savior.

The next few days invite us in to what we love about autumn. As Christians, the future invites us into what we will love about eternity.

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

I Corinthians 2:9
