MHN E-Question of the Week

In our weekly E-Newsletter, we have begun publishing our “E-Question of the Week” to help stir the minds of our listeners and ask them about things we can do to improve our ministry in serving the Lord Jesus Christ.  If you’d like to answer our E-Question of the Week, we would love to hear from you.  We will be posting a few responses each week in our E-Newsletter.  Please leave what city you are listening from when you give your response (to help us better understand our ministry reach).

Responses to some of our previous E-Questions:

(Using God's Word) Do you think it's necessary for churches to be closed during Covid-19?

“If there has been an outbreak in your church yes so you can sanitize and regroup. But as long as your wearing masks and social distancing, no.  We need to go to church to pray together, hear the pastor fellowship with social distancing.”

– Manorville, NY (90.9 FM)

“I think it was absolutely the wrong decision for churches to close during the Covid-19 panic. Hebrews 10:25 reads “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” I feel it’s okay to quarantine if you are sick or have a compromised immune system but healthy people can still congregate using simple precautions.  I attend a church that closed for several months then reopened in late summer with outdoor services, then moved indoors as the weather cooled. No advantage was realized by that decision, but we did lose families who switched to other churches in the area that either did not close, or opened much sooner.  John MacArthur had the right idea to keep his church open and fight the government ban on church attendance.”

– Hammond, NY (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“Romans 13:1 says “Let every person be subject to the authorities.  For there is no authority except from God.”  Hebrews 10.25 says “not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together.” Matt 18:20 says “where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name there am I among them.”  What more do we need than our Lord’s presence?”

– Kingston, ON (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“If we truly care about our church family we need to do all we can to keep them safe.  By closing the buildings we are showing how much we care.”

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

“Absolutely not!”

– Manchester, NH

“Heb. 10:25 instructs “Do not forsake the assembling together as believers.” Romans 13:1 instructs us to obey governing authorities.  Worship is necessary, but at this time we need to be obedient to the reasonable and temporary mandates to wear wears and keep social distance. It is a sacrifice for us, but we do it for love of others. Containment and control of this virus is important.  We are not abandoning worship, but we need to do so responsibly, and maybe do so through technology.  Above all, we need to pray.”

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

“I think that Churches should be allowed to present a plan to their local governments to show that they have a plan for safety and are following all Guidelines for distancing, masks, etc., the same as any other entity that has been allowed to open for indoor gathering.  It does appear that Churches have been unfairly targeted when “they” have allowed much activity out there that has not been regulated At All. :(“

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

““We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29)”…taken from this article that explains better then I can, but describes my view on why churchs should remain open…regardless of gov’t “rules” because of covid 19… https://decisionmagazine.com/john-macarthur-the-churchs-duty-to-remain-open/ >…in regard to last weeks question on “physician assisted suicide”… Genesis 1:27…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. …I would have to point people to this article, which would, again, explain better then I can in my own words… https://answersingenesis.org/sanctity-of-life/euthanasia/biblical-solution-terminal-illness-or-suffering/

What is your viewpoint on Christians receiving a public/secular education?

“Three churches that I have been attending had Christian day school through high school age. Certainly was a better education, and far advanced and better behaved, but few went to Christian college, but secular, and many more were hurt by the secular atmosphere and fell . The divorce rate was just as much as secular.

– Massachusetts (MHN App)

“My wife and I homeschooled all 7 of our children.  We do not regret it one bit. All our children are productive adults.  They may have missed out on many opportunities that public school can offer, but we did have many special moments together that united us as a family.  Public schooling can work for a family, but for all the opportunities offered, there is so much negative influence with both peers and faculty.  I work in a public school in a non teaching capacity, so I see a lot of what’s going on.  I see the good and the bad, and it seems the bad outweighs the good more and more every year. Children will never get a biblical perspective world view from public school.  They may even be discouraged to have such beliefs.  With homeschooling we had to trust God to believe He has a plan for our children’s lives, and He will carry out His plan no matter if they don’t get every learning opportunity that secular school offers, and what short comings we had as non-certified “teachers”.  Our teaching perspective was not to fill our children’s mind with as much information as possible, but to Love and Trust God for their futures and to learn the love of learning and when they leave home they will be excited about learning what ever they are called by God to do.  Whether it be a career or being a wife and mother, they will succeed with a love of God.  And pass that faith on to others and their children.

– Massena, NY (WMHQ 90.1 FM)

“John 17:16 Our Lord requested not that we be taken out of the world but that we kept from the evil one.  Our Christian teachers need the support of Christian families.

– Kingston, ON (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“”As the twig is bent, so the tree will grow.” For me this means that good values shown by parents should give children a framework on which to hang a good public education.

– Kingston, ON (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“Having graduated from a public high school almost 40 years ago…I would have to give a resounding NO to public schools. I am still trying to replace the misleading and indoctrinating information that filled my mind that many decades ago. The next two generations after mine have been increasingly attacked, replacing every one of God’s moral truths with more and more lies at a faster and faster pass. You don’t have to follow the “news” to closely to understand that. I would further caution parents, that not all home school programs, or “Christian” schools are teaching the truth either. More and more discernment is needed by parents. There are good schools, but there must be a deliberate attempt by every parent to know what is being taught. Of course not every parent can afford a private school, I understand that. If I was a parent in the society we are now in, I would search the many resources available at answersingenesis.org …this article from their site 5 years ago can explain my views best…of course the issues described in this article have only increased in severity since it was written… https://answersingenesis.org/public-school/is-public-school-an-option/ …this quote is from the article, to sum up what is happening, “Public schools are being transformed rapidly into laboratories for ideological experimentation and indoctrination. If these developments have not come to your school, they almost surely will soon.

– North Lawrence, NY (WMHQ 90.1 FM)

How do you feel about transgenders being in organized sports?

“I think they should have their own teams and compete against each other. I do not believe that biological males should compete against biological females.”

– Port Leyden, NY (90.5 FM, Lyons Falls)

“I think it’s a travesty. God made only male and female.”

– Fulton, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

“To be fair to all, and be able to properly assess their true abilities, they should have their own games and not participate in current traditional competitions. It’s not fair to the other athletes for e.g. to have a female who was originally a male compete against a naturally born female.”

– Albany, NY (WMHH 96.7 FM)

“I do not feel that transgender males should be allowed to play in ANY women’s/girl’s sports. It creates an unfair biological advantage.”

– Tully, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

“It is wrong!”

– Brunswick, NY (WMHH 96.7 FM)

“1st thing as a Christian station this should not even be in the vocabulary. It is a sin and does not belong in any sport that our children watch.”

– Croghan, NY (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“I feel that this question is misleading, in that there is a lack of any pronouns, and “transgender” used as if it is already “accepted” as an individuals sexual identity…and being asked on a Christian radio station siteConfused smile… If the question is, “should boys compete on girls teams and vice versa…and enter locker rooms…rest rooms…etc.”, then the obvious answer should be, NO. For me, it is as simple as Genesis 1:27…So God created mankind in his own image,in the image of God he created them;male and female he created them. I believe this article can explain it better then I can and in much more detail, but it is well worth the time to read it https://answersingenesis.org/family/gender/gender-in-culture-cutting-through-chaos/ …for those that won’t take the time to read it, then at least this quote should be clear to all that call themselves Christian, “Ultimately, we should not follow the culture in separating sex from gender, which is really the crux of the issue. We don’t have to change the Bible’s vocabulary or apologize for what it says. God designed his Word so that it would communicate to all humans and clearly show them the way to be transformed into the full and satisfying humanity—designed as male or female from the beginning—that God provided for us through Jesus Christ.” I also would like to include this article for those that might argue gender/sex abnormalities, “we need to realize these abnormalities do exist but only because we live in a fallen world.” https://answersingenesis.org/family/gender/biology-gender/ I pray that these articles will be helpful to anyone or a family facing any of these situations. The last sentence of this article, sums up my view, “For those struggling with gender identity, there is true hope—the same hope of everyone else in this fallen world—the gospel of Jesus Christ.””

– North Lawrence, NY (WMHQ 90.1 FM)

“It will be the destructing of women’s sports.”

– British Columbia (WMHI 94.7 FM)

How much news should a Christian be exposing themselves to on a regular basis?

“Some is informative, too much is a recipe for anxiety.”

– Alexa/MHN App

“Christians should expose themselves to only enough news to have a general knowledge of what is going on around them. After that most of the “news” is just fluff.”

– Fulton, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

“Sadly, only a Fraction of the Truth is being presented through Main Stream Media and Worse it is Normalizing anti-Christian philosophies. Discerning Christians can go in search of news outlets on the internet that are exposing the Dark Path we are on, but many of those also seem to be swayed by political agendas. I find myself becoming discouraged as I see the Truth being trampled and replaced with evil lies – but then I must remind myself that this Too is God’s Plan coming to fruition. (Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!) All that said, I scroll through the internet “headlines” in the morning, and really try not to look at Any of It after that. … as dark as it is getting: “Even so, Come Lord Jesus Come !””

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

“Christians need reliable news from different sources to get a relatively balanced view. Many year ago “Peterbough” published an article about Pravda, a Russian paper and a paper in the west. Pravda reported “Ambassador ran a race. The Russian ambassador came in second and the European ambassador only one ahead of the last man” the European paper reported that the Russian and European ambassador ran a race. The European won” Both were factually correct but both were needed for the context. CNN and FOX, or their equivalent are both needed. As for needing the news Our Lord seemed to be acquainted with it when he referred to the tower that fell and those whom Herod killed an mixed their blood with their offerings.”

– N/A

“Context is essential. My last reply went without filling in the radio station which is Kingston.”

– Kingston, ON (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“Who cares?”

– WMHI 94.7 FM

“…I would think that a Christian should only be exposing themselves to the “fake news” about 15 minutes a day…that would keep anyone “informed” enough of what is being said on major news outlets, that would include SRN and Spectrum news…there are just more lies then truth, and I have really seen people getting all anxious and angry and really not being able to change anything… …I know some that have the 24 hr. a day news on, and I find it a waste of time… …On the other hand…if people were to spend even a portion of their time in the Good News…then they would not be so anxious and would know the, “truth that will set them free”…of course, you have to use much discernment even then, because sadly, there is more and more “fake good news” and false teachers… …since we should never assume that everyone has heard the Good News…that is what we should be sharing…here is a link that covers a lot of it…if someone has a short attention span 🙂 , the last message will sum it all up https://www.gty.org/library/topical-series-library/253/and-now-for-the-good-news”

What are your thoughts on the COVID-19 vaccine?

“I think the Covid vaccine is a very risky venture since primarily the drug manufacturer has zero liability. As an alternative; Ivermectin + zinc + vitamin D has an extremely good success rate with virtually no side effects.”

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

“I don’t think there has been enough research on it. My daughter is a nurse and apparently they think it could make you infertile. Not good for young women.”

– Manorville, NY (90.9 FM)

“I am a retired RN, and today I got my second Moderna vaccine shot. Our President took extraordinary measures to get these vaccines to us. When I worked, I got the flu vaccine every year but one, and that year, I was very, very sick with flu. I felt I was protecting my patients by gett8ng the vaccine; I feel the same way now.”

– Lyons Fall, NY (90.5 FM) & Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9 FM)

“I believe as research that had been done before the vaccine was released was enough to proceed to distribution across the world in the light of the unprecedented pandemic. This whole pandemic has been frightening including the vaccine. However from near the beginning of the release of the vaccine, I had an unshakeable belief it was good and right for me. It has to be an individual decision. I have friends and family that are very elderly or have health conditions that I will not be responsible for them catching anything from me that could cause them harm.”

– Watertown, NY (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“…my thoughts on the covid-19 vaccine?…well, here are just a sample of “news” headlines from the “experts”… …yet this is what our Creator says in His book…Job 14:5 You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer. …I will put my trust in the Lord…. …However, early estimates predict that the overall COVID-19 recovery rate is between 97% and 99.75%… …• Most people with COVID-19 experience mild symptoms or moderate illness. …• Approximately 10-15% of cases progress to severe disease, and about 5% become critically ill…Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home…. ……Experts say people can still spread and even develop COVID-19 after getting a vaccine. They add the vaccine doesn’t prevent coronavirus infection. It helps protect against serious illnesses…. …A vaccine that is 95% effective means that about 1 out of 20 people who get it may not have protection from getting the illness… …Also, while the vaccine may prevent you from getting sick, it is unknown at this time if you can still carry and transmit the virus to others. That is why, until more is understood about how well the vaccine works, continuing with precautions such as mask-wearing and physical distancing will be important… …Dr. Anthony Fauci says it’s “possible” we will be wearing masks into 2022. A Johns Hopkins expert disagrees… …At the current trajectory, I expect Covid will be mostly gone by April, allowing Americans to resume normal life. … Dr. Makary is a professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health, chief … …As they prepare to roll out Covid-19 vaccines, governments world-wide are grappling with how to keep track of those who have … …Invasion of medical privacy? Knesset passes law to give names of unvaccinated to cities, govt ministries Massive rally in Tel Aviv planned to protest unprecedented release of names… …Increased pressure on unvaccinated individuals is not limited to teachers and other professions conducted in shared offices. Unvaccinated citizens also risk being barred from some houses of worship….”

– North Lawrence, NY (WMHQ 90.1 FM)

“I will not be getting it, possibly in the future it will become unavoidable but I choose not to take the risk.”

– Odessa, ON (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“I don’t think it was tested enough. I read about it and while it’s FDA approved I personally don’t feel peace about getting it.  While I don’t think its the mark of the beast I do think its part of conditioning of society to receive mark.”

– Shirley, NY (90.9 FM)

“Take the COVID 19 vaccine as soon as you can get it, remembering that Polio was controlled and smallpox wiped out with vaccines.”

– Kingston, ON (WMHI 94.7 FM)

“Waiting, to early for me to trust a vaccine.”

– Norfolk, NY (WMHQ 90.1 FM)

“I’m concerned about how fast this was done, also that it has not been widely tested.”

– Amityville, NY (90.9 FM)

Do you think the resurrection of Jesus deserves more or less of a worldwide celebration than Christmas?

“Sadly Christmas has been hijacked by pagan celebrations and rituals. It seems most people today are not focused at all on the Birth of Christ during that time. From Good Friday through Easter we have the culmination of Everything We Believe In. Sadly, I think “the world” would rather embrace an easter-bunny with candy and is Blind to the Hope and Promise of our Lord’s Resurrection… Praise God ! Three Days Later He Rose!!”

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9FM)

“I believe it needs more, so we remember why he came to begin with, so that he could be the last blood sacrifice ever needed to cleanse us of our sin.”

– Manorville, NY (90.9FM, Riverhead)

“Hmmmm! That’s a difficult question! Well He was born to die, so I guess it would be more pertinent that He be born first. So I guess my answer is Christmas!”

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9FM)

“Easter is by far the whole reason why Jesus came.”
– Herkimer/Utica, NY (WMHU 91.1FM)
“More.”

– Malone, NY (WMHQ 90.1FM)

“If Christ is not raised you are yet in your sins and of all men most miserable.”
– Watertown/Cape Vincent, NY & Kingston, ON (WMHI 94.7FM)
“Definitely deserves more…without the resurrection of Jesus, there would be no reason for His birth.”
– North Lawrence, NY (WMHQ 90.1FM)

In Revelation 13:16-18, it talks about the mark of the beast. Based on this passage of scripture, do you believe someone who has received the mark of the beast can still be saved by Jesus Christ? If not/so, why do you think someone who's received the mark can('t) be saved?

“I believe God’s word addresses this in John 10:27-30 – that No One can be “Snatched” (or Tricked) into rejecting Jesus. When I read the passages about taking “the number of the beast” I believe that in order to “take” the number – that you will “know” you are rejecting Christ when you do it. I believe that it will be the turning point for those who will have turned to Christ during the Tribulation to confess Jesus as Lord. This will lead to incredible persecution for them, if not, worse, execution. 🙁 I do place my hope and prayers that Today’s true Christians will be “raptured” (sorry for the cliche’ word) and excused from living through that terrible time. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand” … John 10:27-30″

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9FM)

“I believe you could still be saved by Jesus if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Chrisy is Lord. I think especially in these times where they have talked about chipping people to be able to get groceries ect in our new world we’re living in, I believe even at the last Moment if you believe on Jesus you will be saved just like the thief on the cross.”

– Manorville, NY (90.9FM, Riverhead)

“…It would seem that someone who receives the mark can not be saved, based on… >Revelation 14:9-11…“If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath,… >Revelation 20:4…Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. ..yet Scripture says that there will be both Jew and Gentile saved during the Great Tribulation… >Revelation 7:9-17…behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages…“Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?” 14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb…. >Revelation 6:9-11…I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. 10 They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers[a] should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been. …It also says that they who received the mark were deceived… >in Revelation 19:20…had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image…. …so if people were deceived…and then truly repented…would God not save them? >in Matthew 12:31…Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven…and there are multiple Scriptures that speak of a call to repentance…Luke 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance… …so perhaps people can be saved that have taken the mark…but my suggestion would be…Don’t wait and see…repent and believe now, before this time comes…believe in Jesus and receive Him as Lord and Savior!!!!…”
– North Lawrence, NY (WMHQ 90.1FM)

What scripture in the Bible do you think applies most to society today?

“I started digging into the book of Isaiah because he was living in a time very much like ours – where a very bad king (Manasseh) came into power and the Nation turned against God. Isaiah was pleading with his people to repent and warning them of the Judgement to come. Every line I am reading is like reading the headlines of today. I fear that as a Nation, we will not repent and that Judgement surely must be coming. “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20). And, they are doing this while heartily applauding it – boldly celebrating their sin … building it into law, parading it in today’s entertainment, even in some “churches”. And then forcing God’s people to agree with this or be deemed “intolerant” or worse. If we don’t repent, Can God continue to Bless America ?”

“Matthew 13:13-15…13 …They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand. 14 This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah that says, ‘When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. 15 For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them. Romans 1:18-32… God’s Anger at Sin 18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.[a] 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. 21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. 28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.”

Do you believe that there is intelligent life on other planets?

“I am not even sure there is intelligent life on this planet.”

– Syracuse, New York (WMHR 102.9FM)

“No”

– Yukon, Oklahoma (Internet)

“Probably not on other planets, but definitely in Heaven! And they do not require water to live. Space scientists are always looking for signs of water since “all living things require water to survive.””

– Baldwinsville, New York (WMHR 102.9FM)

“Yes”
– N/A
“There seems to be no intelligent life on this planet! Why assume intelligence on others!”

– Boonville, New York (WMHU 91.1FM)

“This is an interesting question, and I look forward to reading what other listeners might think. I would love to know if anyone has Biblical references to the topic. What I do KNOW is that God has created EVERYTHING in the Universe. There seems to be evidence that there is “something” else out there. I suppose if “they” are there, God created them – but, maybe they really aren’t supposed to be “poking around” the Earth which God created for his Human Race. God doesn’t mention them in the Bible (I don’t think) – which is what He left for US humans to guide “Our” lives. So, possibly He has a relationship with “them” elsewhere and they are sinning against Him by showing themselves here ? Probably not True, but, might make a good Fantasy movie 🙂 I look forward to the responses.”

Not to say that other universes are like ours and each universe will be like ours and we may be a microcosm of each universe. We will never know till we get to heaven.”

Do you think (as Christians) we should celebrate Halloween?

“We do not need to “celebrate” the day; however, it is a wonderful opportunity to engage with children. We for years have given out candy plus Halloween tracts, individual Bible verses and/or flyers from Christian radio networks. We also offer cold cider and hot chocolate to any who would like it. Some who were youngsters 20 years ago are now eagerly coming to our garage with their own children on Halloween night!”

“NO.”

– Rochester, NY (WMHN 89.3FM)

“No I don’t believe we should.”

“Well it was boringly called all saints day.  Most churches called harvest day so eyes I believe it’s okay to celebrate as long as we put God in charge and spread Gods love as a treat for everyone.”

– N/A

“I don’t see Halloween as a holiday, but rather an opportunity. The giving of candy to a child is fine however instead of a costume being a representation of gore or suffering or evil it could be an opportunity to show what is right in the world and what is good. Dress your children is biblical characters or a fireman or doctors or nurses.”

What's the best way to forgive someone of something wrong they've done to you when they aren't repentant & you still feel anger towards them?

“Forgiveness is always in our hands. Where u feel like it or not. Feelings can be deceiving and will you not to forgive. Trust God through Christ Jesus to forgive.”

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9FM)

“Honestly – I ask the Lord to help but sometimes it becomes a rut of forgiving the same thing from the same person day after day. I just keep asking the Lord for help with it.”

– Online

“Remember that Jesus forgave us and that if we gave our heart to Jesus we must forgive others.”

– Manorville, NY (90.9FM)

“When I start to feel anger towards someone I stop and ask God to help me find peace in my heart. Once I seek Gods love and peace for myself then I can truly forgive that person for doing wrong to me.”

– North Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9FM)

“Remember first, what forgiveness isn’t and what it is. Forgiveness is not trust.  Trust is earned, and we do not have to continue to allow someone to hurt us, when they are not repentant and continue in destructive behavior.  It’s okay to be angry, anger tells you something is wrong. But you can’t hold on to it.  Forgiveness isn’t denying or dismissing wrongdoing.  It’s okay to acknowledge that wrong has been done. Forgiveness is releasing someone, with the power of the Holy Spirit, through prayer, from what you perceive they owe you: whether that be pain and suffering, money, or some other form of injustice. It is helpful to remember that God is ultimately the one who sets the standards for how we are to act.  So we sin against God, and He is the one who can take vengeance, give consequences, or choose to be merciful. It’s helpful to place the offense and offender in God’s hands and recognize that we aren’t God, and He, only is the one who has the right to bring justice to the breaking of His standards.  It’s how we are to act. So when we sin, we sin against God. That’s why He says, “Vengeance is mine”. When we choose to hold something against another person, we are putting ourselves in God’s place. It’s helpful to think of God, as our Father, who loves us, and give that other person’s wrongdoing into His hands. He knows how best to give consequences to the offender. And if He chooses to be merciful, that’s up to Him. It’s not up to us, to give justice. We are to act justly and love mercy.”

He says when we forgive others their wrongs against us then we have the confidence that He will forgive us.  Remembering Jesus when he answered the disciples when they asked ” Teach us to pray” and so we have The Lord’s Prayer as some call it…I lean on those words time and time again because I know what I’m made of…dust.”

Do you think abortion is a human right?

“No. The act/purpose of abortion is murder/termination of the new life. People have a right to have sex and they have the responsibility for the results of their action. If they don’t want a child, then they don’t have sex!!! Having sex is not a license to kill. People need to act responsibly when it comes to the gift of sex God gave us.”

“The United States of America. This country was founded on the idea of Biblical Principles. When I say this people will think this is a wild misunderstanding. However, the evidence to one who moderately looks into this is overwhelming. By Supreme Court Decisions made in 1948, 1961, 1962 by 9 unelected Supreme Court Justices silenced Christ taught in schools, the Bible, and prayer. Today people have not even heard of Adam and Eve, original sin, Noah and the great flood. “My people perish for a lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:1). We need to know that we do not have to believe in the atheistic theory of evolution. It stands on two principles. 1) That nothing created everything. 2) That an explosion created so much order in the universe that it really is beyond any human comprehending it. Four examples: 1) We live in a world where Winter is followed by Spring, which is followed by Summer, then Fall and then back to Winter. This world has so many independent variables that this should never occur even once, yet it has happened since God’s creation. Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and for years” (Genesis 1:14). 2) We live in a world so well ordered that we can predict the sunrise 150 years from now to the very moment. 3) We live in a world where there is an exact kind of female for every male. Humans, four legged creatures, crawling things, creatures of the air, creatures of the sea and rivers. 4) DNA is a sequence of 4 amino acids. That exact sequencing of the amino acids is specified information. It determines color of your hair, how tall you will be, perhaps personality traits. If we just take one person’s DNA, your DNA, it can go to from the earth to the sun and back again more than several times. If that amino acid sequencing was off less than a fraction of 1% life could not exist. No, explosions cannot create intelligence, but explosions create chaos. There are two reasons why Universities, and High Schools insist on teaching this unscientific, philosophically unsound theory of evolution. If they don’t cling to this theory then they have to deal with God’s six day creation. If they have to acknowledge God’s six day creation, then they have to deal with God’s judgement. What is this judgement? This is the judgement, that the Light has come into the world and men loved darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But everyone who practices the truth comes to the Light so that their deeds will be acknowledged by God .(John 3:19-21). Well we have a judgement as well. Because Adam and Eve brought sin into the world, we are appointed once to die and then the judgement. (Hebrews 9:27). We all think we are going to heaven. We can justify ourselves because we compare other individual to ourselves. I would say something like “I’m better than my friend Nick, he takes things from work that don’t belong to him.” “I’m better than my friend Steve, he cheated on his wife.” “I’m better than the Idolater Dictator Adolf Hitler, he killed tens of millions of people.” “I’m better than the Atheistic Dictators Joseph Stalin and Mao Tse Tong, they killed 10’s of millions of people.” Really? Am I better than them. Once we see ourselves from God’s holy and righteous eyes we can see how dirty we really are. The ninth commandment is Do not bear false witness. How many lies have you told in your life? If you lied once ever, even when you are four years old to get a cookie, you are a liar. 8th commandment Thou shalt not steal. Have you ever stolen anything. Have you downloaded music from the internet. This is stealing. This is called a thief. Commandment #3 Thou shalt not use God’s name in vain. OMG is doing this. Would you use your Mother’s name as a cuss word? No, she cared for you when you were helpless, she cared for you in sickness. She came to your sporting events and school plays. Yet God gave you that Mother and God loves you much more than her. God will hold you accountable for every time you use His name in vain. Jesus states if you looked at someone with lust you have committed adultery with them in your heart. Have you ever looked with lust? Jesus states if you ever hated someone, no matter how much evil they have done against you, you have the same seed thought as committing murder. Have you ever hated someone? If we are honest, we are all guilty. We all deserve everlasting hell. But God made us in his image. He sees us as lost sheep. He became a man in the form of Christ. He was born of a virgin as stated by the prophet Isaiah 800 years ahead of his birth. He lived a sinless life. He cured the lepers. He made the lame to walk, the mute to talk. He made the blind to see and the deaf to hear. He raised people from the dead. He cured spiritual infirmities by forgiving sins as only God can. He willingly then became publicly humiliated for hours, abandoned by most of His most close friends in the time of this need. He willingly took the nails in his ankles and wrists while I yet denied Him and hated Him. After six hours of severe neurological pain with every breath he stated “It is finished.” This means he paid for every sin I did or will ever do. He was raised to life by the Father after three days. He promises then to do the same for us if we only do two things. We must believe he was God, he was raised from the dead, conquering death. We must repent. Repentance is not being sorry for getting caught. It is not a casual repentance. God states in Psalm 51:17 what kind of repentance is satisfactory. “The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.” If we do this we will pass from death into eternal life. Remember, God loves mercy more than sacrifice, and He loves the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” (Hosea 6:6). We need to read a little of the bible day and night and to nurture a prayer life to grow in Him. Psalm 1 states Blessed is He who meditates on the Law of the Lord day and night (read a little in AM and before bed). He will be like a tree planted by the water. He always bears fruit and the leaf does not winter. He will prosper in whatever he does.”

“Religion is mankind seeking God; while biblical Christianity is God seeking mankind. Some religions have god forgiving sin; but sin is never paid for – atoned for. In biblical Christianity the Father’s judgment (anger) was poured out on His Son, Who took the penalty we owed; so that He could not only forgive our sins, but also give us His righteousness, thereby allowing we humans to come into an intimate relationship with Him.”

If someone asked you what makes Christianity different than any other religion, what would you say?

“The Death, (the shedding of Jesus’ blood for mankind’s sins), His burial, and resurrection as Lord.”

– Trapper Creek, AK (Online Stream/MHN App)

“Christianity is the only religion with a living Savior…1 Corinthians 15:17-20 17 And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. 18 In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! 19 And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. 20 But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.”

– North Lawrence, NY (WMHQ 90.1FM)

“Most other religions are “works” religions in which judge us on the works we have performed during this life. Christianity states that there is nothing that can be done for our sinful state except throw our mercy on the judge. The wages of sin is death. This is what we have earned. Christ loved us so much he died on the cross paying our sin debt. We only have to believe he is God and that he raised again from the dead, conquering death. He promises for us to do the same on the last day if we believe and also repent of our sins. God accepts this repentance: a broken and contrite heart he does not despise (Psalm 51:17). It is the only religion that provides assured hope of everlasting life after the first death and the joy that remains in us during this life despite not so good circumstances.”

“The focus of our devotion sacrificed and died for us.”

“Christianity is a relationship between Jesus Christ my Savior and me. There is nothing I can do to find favor with God. He is the One that initiated this relationship by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth in human form so that He could take my sins upon Himself. Jesus paid for my sins. In all other religions, a person has to do something to find favor with their god.”

What have you seen within the church that the body of Christ should work on?

“Apathy – lack of interest, enthusiasm for the things of God. Some people go to church as a routine, because they have done it for years and are used to it, but no showing of desire to truly worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth, they are there physically, but very far mentally. We need revival in our hearts, how are we going to witness to a sinful world, to souls perishing without Christ, if we don’t have that zeal.”

– Brewerton, NY (WMHR 102.9FM)

“Three years ago on Good Friday, I went to a church I had never attended before south of Waterloo N.Y.  Of the approximately 50 people there that evening, only one spoke to me in welcoming me, and he was the pastor.  I truly felt like I was intruding on a private meeting.  I have never gone back, nor do I go to church now.  This church needs to be more like Jesus, The next time a stranger comes along.”

To what degree should Christians get involved in environmental issues?

How do you maintain a positive spirit during the doldrums of the “after the holidays” winter months?

“It’s going to have a profound impact on all aspects of life. Although there will be good uses, all areas of technology become hijacked for control and manipulation. This will be a powerful tool in any hands using it. There’s no going back.”

“Not good, a resent article said it best, “Google Co-founder Wants to Build AI as a “Digital God” “digital AI is developed and programmed by . . . sinful human beings! So, their “god” will reflect that! As we’ve pointed out before, today’s AI, such as ChatGPT, is incredibly biased with leftist ideologies because it reflects the viewpoints of both those who program it and the voices it pulls from to answer questions.”

– North Lawrence, NY (WMHQ 90.1FM)

– Syracuse, NY (WMHR 102.9FM)

“Though we can’t know the day or the hour, the signs are everywhere. The birth pains are closer; it is as in the days of Noah. He instructed us to be ready. Why it would seem so close to me is because of the sacrifice and mutilation of children; what is being done “to this little ones” is pure sadistic. God will not be mocked. He told us to watch, He told us to be ready, He told us to go and make disciples, AMEN! COME LORD JESUS! I thank Him for His delay as He brings each of His home.”

– Riverhead, NY (90.9FM)

“No. God gave us choice. I see this whole thing as a way to take away are right to choose. Global warming is a construct created by our government to control us. This is my opinion. God promised he would not flood us again by his rainbow in the sky.”

– Liverpool, NY (WMHR 102.9FM)

“We are to be responsible as stewards while we are here, but we should not be concerned of so called “global warming”/climate change. We know that the earth will remain as long as God has decided it will, then according to 2 Peter 3:7, He will destroy it by fire (real global warming :-)”
