Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith

There is one God. Infinitely perfect, He is a triune God in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Hebrews 1:1-3, Revelation 1:4-6)

Jesus Christ, the Son, is true God, and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died, was buried, rose again the third day, and is seated at the right hand of God, making intercession for believers. He, the Just, died on the cross for the unjust as a substitutionary sacrifice for all who believe in Him and are thereby justified by His shed Blood. (John 1:1-3, Luke 1:30-35, 1 Corinthians 15:4, Romans 3:21-26)

The Holy Spirit, part of the Trinity, is at work in the world today. His work is to convict men of their sin, bringing them to repentance; and to seal, indwell and comfort the believer. In all that He does, He testifies of and glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ and not Himself. (John 16:7-11, 14, Ephesians 1:11-14, Romans 8:9-11)

The Old and New Testaments, as originally written, are without error. Being divinely inspired by God, they are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice. (2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3: 14-17, John 17:17)

Man was originally created in the image of God, but fell through disobedience. All men are born with a sinful nature, are separated from God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3, Romans 5:12-21, Ephesians 2:8-9)

Salvation has been made available through Jesus Christ for all men. Those who repent and believe in Him, by God’s grace, are born again of the Spirit of God, and become the children of God. (John 3:7-18, Romans 1:16-17, Luke 5: 31-32, Acts 3:19, 1 John 3:1)

It is the will of God that each believer be filled with the Holy Spirit; be separated from sin and worldly influence; and be fully dedicated to the will of God. He thereby receives power for holy living and effective service. (Ephesians 5:1-21, 1 John 3:5, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:22-24)

The true Church of Christ is constituted by those who are redeemed by Christ’s finished work and born again by the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Ephesians 4:4-16, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:5)

There shall be a bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust: the just into everlasting joy with Christ and the unjust into everlasting conscious torment. (Hebrews 9:27-28, 1 Corinthians 15:50-56, Daniel 12:1-2, Acts 24:15, Matthew 13:49-50, Revelation 21:8)

The second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is certain and will be personal and visible. This is the believers’ blessed hope and trust, and an incentive for holy living and faithful service. (Acts 1:11, 15:16-18, Matthew 24:3-31)

On Christian Living:
• God creates each person as male or female in His image, and disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. (Genesis 1:27, Deuteronomy 22:5)
• God has ordained the covenant of marriage to be between one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24, Romans 7:2, 1 Corinthians 7:10, Ephesians 5:22-23, Genesis 9:4-13, Romans 1:26-29)
