Prayers by Pete: Ambassadors for Christ

Written by on March 13, 2018

2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were asking through us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

An ambassador tells people about Christ.

Mark 16:15 And the Lord said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
1 Peter 3:15 But in your heart honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.
Jeremiah 1:7 The Lord said to me, “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you”, declares the Lord.

An ambassador is a servant, helping.

Psalm 113:1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, you servants of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 6:4 But in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in affliction, in hardships, in distresses.
John 12:26 If anyone serves Me, let them follow Me; where I am, there shall My servant also be; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor them.

An ambassador will always be positive for Christ.

Philippians 4:8 Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.
Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

An ambassador spreads the Lord’s kindness.

Luke 6:27 But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.
Luke 6:28 Bless those who curse you; pray for those who mistreat you.
Luke 6:29 Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer them the other also; whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them either.
Luke 6:30 Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours do not demand it back.
Luke 6:31 And just as you want people to treat you, treat them in the same way.
Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Heavenly Father, I pray that we would all be “Ambassadors for Christ” in all that we do.
Humbly I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Please forward this so others may be blessed.
