“God, please bless my family to be a band for Your glory and may they have a passion to serve you with all their hearts.” It was a simple prayer, but an earnest one prayed many, many years ago. Bill McClurg was a man with a holy obsession to share the Gospel message with anyone willing to listen.

Pastor McClurg’s prayer was honored, and the McClurg Family ministry became more and more fruitful. Before long, Anthony and Chris became the youngest members of the McClurg Family Singers. As time went on and the family member mixes changed, Anthony and Chris’ time with the traditional version of the family band came to a close. But they were not done writing and performing music. As they contemplated their options, they couldn’t deny that what best represented who they were was steeped in the rich heritage of Pappy McClurg’s legacy. Everything that they did and who they had become as artists had the spiritual makeup of their family history embedded deeply into the soul of the band’s music and ministry. There could be no other name…

Lead guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Jeremy Thompson added a fresh dimension to the bands sound. They have developed a reputation as some of the most talented and authentic live acts in modern Christian music. They also now own and operate Old Bear Records, a record label studio based in Batavia, NY.
