S~T~R~E~A~M~S with Mundaka Lee

After over twenty five years of living in New York City, first in pursuit of a career in the arts, then coming to the Lord, getting to know Him, growing in Him, serving Him, the Lord called my wife Erika and me to lay aside whatever plans we might still have of our own, and trust Him completely with our lives. Through an amazing set of circumstances, orchestrated by the Lord, we gave up our apartment and our jobs and moved to a small town we had never before heard of in Central New York, where we had no work, knew no people, had no clue as to what we were supposed to do, other than to trust in the LORD with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5).

Further amazing circumstances unfolded as God more than met our needs. He provided a great place to live, allowed us to meet many wonderful people, and opened the doors for both of us to have good work, with me coming on staff at Mars Hill. I had not worked in radio before, and was really intrigued with how people had been given the ability to develop this technology so that at this time the Word of God and the praise of His glorious Name might shoot up this tower on Onondaga Hill and be broadcast, like the farmer’s spreading of his seed, (from which that term apparently comes), to people all over the known world, and beyond…

I began to ask the lord what He wanted me to do with this incredible opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ, that ” God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16). He spoke by His Spirit through His Word saying, “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… and Love others as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-40). know though, “It’s not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the LORD Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6). “You will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:8). “Wash my bride (The Church), and those who are yet to come, cleansing them through the water of my Word” (Ephesians 5:25-27). For “faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17). “If you hold to my teaching,” Jesus said, “you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32). “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Mark 13:31).

When he had finished washing the disciples’ feet, Jesus put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” (John 13:12-17).

And so, the vision for S~T~R~E~A~M~S was given. In addition to being a reference to the streams of living water (God’s Holy Spirit) that will flow from within one who believes in Jesus Christ, it is an acronym that stands for: Seeking~ Truth~ Repentance~ Encouragement~ Adoration of the~ Master~ Speaking to each other in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

I pray you will be as blessed as I am to be a part of what the Lord is doing in and through S~T~R~E~A~M~S.

Praise Jesus!
